Inspired by a Japanese garden after a thunderstorm, Un Matin d'Orange was created by Isabel Doyen for Annick Goutal in 2009. A soft dewy fragrance, the star notes are gardenia and magolia, which are surrounded by lemon, perilla leaves, ginger, jasmine sambac, champaca and sandalwood that glow like a rainbow after the storm.

The eau de toilette is a very light, watery, and realistic southern magnolia with some evanescent green notes. Magnolia blossoms exude the slightly sweet, subtle lemon-cream fragrance of citronella. While there is nothing to dislike about this fragrance, I was ultimately disappointed that it doesn't capture the layered and more complex fragrance notes that its name, "stormy morning" suggests. Even so, if you appreciate southern magnolia, you will enjoy this fragrance—this is the only perfume I have found that accurately captures that flower.

Beautiful. Gardenia and a traditional French or English garden just after rain, but with it still drizzling or with an overcast sky. Optimistic and pretty. Feminine. Relaxed and very happy. Slightly humid with a cool breeze across the face. A perfume to be in love to. Brushing through the wet blooms and pausing to chat on the garden bench. EDP warms and softens the whole thing. EDT is my favourite, but both are stunning.

So amazed at how perfectly it captures a garden after rain. It's incredible! It smells exactly like wet flowers and grass. I don't know yet if I want to smell like this myself but I love the experience of smelling it, just enchanting! I ended up buying a full size bottle of this and love it more and more each day.
