Montale Sweet Vanilla by Montale Eau De Parfum Spray (Unisex) 3.4 oz (Women)

Unapologetically sweet and optimistic. Sweet vanilla is comfort food for the summer time. Nostalgic and indulgent but light and almost angelic in a way; like if an angel was a Bratz doll. The apricot in the opening is bright and tart, but not quite sour enough to come across as fresh or raw. More like chunks of candied apricot or a thick swirl of apricot purée in vanilla ice cream. There is something decidedly creamsicle-esque about the first 15-20 minutes that I simply cannot get enough of. This golden, decadent opening that’s creamy, tart, sweet, and so sunny projects over an arms length before warming up on the skin and the vanilla turns a little powdery and ever so slightly toasted, like funnel cake. As gourmand as it is, I don’t really ever find it cloying, even in high heat. But she also projects and can handle the cold. Which I think makes this a perfect fragrance for late summer/early autumn. The sillage is beautiful; I went on an early evening walk and smelled like a walking bakery. Yes, I think I love her. 🍊🍦🍑🌤️🍩🧚🏽🧁

Like summer in a bottle...this is really pretty, i love it. I'm not a vanilla girlie at all, this is the only vanilla i can wear. the jammy, citrus, apricot lemony tart with powered sugar in this is divine and really blooms on my skin. Its this warm fruit pastry experience thats delectable and not overly sweet. A Barista in a cafe leaned across the counter to inhale and stop to ask me why I smelled so good with this one when I was wearing it on a hot day. I dislike the akward flimsy plastic bottles Montale does, with weak atomizers, especially for the price point so I get travel sizes in heavier bottles. The projection on skin is not big for me but its so airey with the lemon apricot marmalade its fresh and gorgeous.

Sweet, fruity vanilla with a surprisingly different development. The opening is very sweet and fruity to me. I strongly get apricot, but not fresh apricot — more like dried or candied apricot. It can initially feel a little artificial/synthetic and quite youthful and girly because of how sweet it is. As it develops, the fruit gradually fades and the fragrance becomes warm, soft, pure sweet vanilla. This is where I like it most. What’s funny is how differently people around me perceive it. I smell the apricot very clearly, my husband mostly smells vanilla, while my colleagues described it as caramel candy. The opening may be too sweet or youthful for some people, but the drydown is much warmer and simpler: sweet vanilla. I think of this as my bright, playful vanilla, compared with the darker, more atmospheric vanilla of Montale Dark Vanilla.

Nothing special. An overpriced fragrance. I noticed other people saying this here, and it’s exactly how I feel: this fragrance doesn’t really stand well on its own, but it could be nice when layered with something else. To me, it smells like orange pound cake. Is that a bad thing? Not at all. It’s just not the kind of scent I want to walk around smelling like. 6/10 ✨
