3#A few days ago I took a closer look at Acqua di Parma Colonia Futura. I am a male in my mid-30s, with a balanced Central European diet, well-hydrated, and no alcohol, cigs, meds, garlic, onion, coffee, workout or significant stress before this outdoor testing. Seven sprays from my 55-60% full bottle - three between each of my shoulders and clavicles for a regular wearing and one on the top of my wrist for breaking down the notes. That day it was 24°C, full sun with no clouds, and spring in the air. The best possible conditions for this scent, in my opinion. I had tried wearing this cologne before bedtime a couple of times. I thought "A low-concentration scent with a dominant lavender note - it must be perfect," but every time it gave me a headache. The vetiver in particular doesn't agree with me in a closed environment. On the other hand, when the sun hits, and you walk the streets, it blooms. The lemon and bergamot are almost sweet and never really fully evaporate. The herbs kick in quickly and add a soapy and clean touch, closely followed by a green, creamy and elegant vetiver. The lasting power is about 5+ hours with weak-to-moderate projection. This one belongs on the shelf right next to all the "Pour Homme" classics and vetivers. Regarding the name, I find it amusing, as it refers to using raw materials and sustainability, but the scent profile screams old-school barbershop. Due to the all-natural ingredients, Colonia Futura feels very fresh, but can also feel raw, even harsh. It needs air and sun - and perhaps some linen.
